![]() ![]() ![]() There are books you can find and read in the dungeon that give details about the worlds lore, but I didn't find them to be particularly interesting. Your generic grandfather mentor figure repeats variations of "boy dont go into the dungeon its dangerous grahhh im an old man," but I can't in good conscious call that a story. There is also a mention of a "story" in the difficulty settings but there honestly is none after completing the first 3 of 5 floors. ![]() Many enemies boil down to baiting out an attack to have the opportunity to hit them, but this needs to be done in the exact same way sometimes 10 times per enemy before they die the formula doesnt work when your damage is too low because it takes minimal effort but lots of time to kill basic enemies. In contrast to this, many standard enemies have attacks that have little or 0 wind up, so that they're a slog to kill without taking damage. The bosses only have 2 attacks, meaning that they can be pretty easily figured out and killed on your first or second try. The combat: There is a solid foundation for combat, but the enemy design completely ruins it. The artstyle is incredibly charming and the combat is so close to being amazing, but I feel really let down by the enemy design and shop mechanics. ![]()
